Enabling devices are used for troubleshooting, programming and checking when no other safety devices are possible or suitable. The enabling device is held in the hand and the operator can either press the enabling button harder or release it completely in a panic situation to stop the machine. An enabling device is a hand-operated start and stop switch that initiates operation and maintains it as long as it is operated.
