Function Miniature circuit breakers (MCB) of type DLS 6h are primarily used to protect cables and lines against overcurrent in accordance with 0100-430 and to protect against electric shock in accordance with 0100-410. Their rated switching capacity is designed for distribution and final circuits with medium short-circuit power, such as in residential and commercial buildings. However, they can also be used for equipment protection with restrictions. Overcurrent tripping occurs for currents in the overload range by a slow-acting, heat-sensitive bimetal tripping device and for short-circuit currents by an electromagnetic quick-acting tripping device. The device is available in tripping characteristics B and C with different response current thresholds of the quick-acting tripping device. For device protection, the MCB can be adapted to the operational peak currents within limits by selecting the characteristics. External triggering is possible using additional devices such as shunt current or undervoltage releases. The circuit breaker can continue to be used after triggering by manually switching it on.
