The control unit is suitable for individual drives with higher requirements for speed control. Extended safety functions and a large I/O frame allow extensive applications. With vector control, two encoders (position and speed) can be connected. This extension enables use in lifting/swivelling/travel or rotary applications. The Control Unit CU250S-2 controls and monitors the power unit (Power Module) and the connected motor in several selectable control types. It enables communication with a local or central control system and with monitoring devices and is used to connect all process-relevant auxiliary units and external components such as sensors, valves, contactors, etc. The extensive I/O interfaces, the fieldbus interfaces and the additional software functions optimally support the application in general mechanical engineering. The CU250S-2 has the integrated safety functions Safe Torque Off (STO), Safe Stop 1 (SS1) and Safe Brake Control (SBC) as standard. In addition, the integrated safety functions Safely Limited Speed (SLS), Safe Speed Monitor (SSM) and Safe Direction (SDI) can be activated with the safety license.
