The D-Link Gigabit 1000Base-T SFP transceiver DGS-712 fits into Gigabit SFP slots of various switch models. This allows unused SFP ports to be used for Gigabit Ethernet twisted pair (RJ-45) connections with up to 100m cable length of category 5 (or better). All D-Link SFP transceivers are hot-swappable and comply with the Small Form Factor Pluggable (SFP) standard and the Multi-Source Agreement (MSA) specification.
