Comprehensive management functions

The DSR-1000AC has two Gigabit Ethernet ports to ensure high availability of your WAN or Internet connections. Data traffic can be distributed across the connections for better performance and availability of corporate applications through outbound load balancing. The router supports broadband cellular networks via an optional external USB modem1, such as a 3G or 4G2 stick.

Web authentication

Captive Portal makes it easy to authenticate and authorize employees and guest users using customized login pages. Users can be authenticated through a local database or a RADIUS, LDAP, Microsoft Windows Active Directory, NT Domain or POP3 server. A maximum of four servers can be selected at a time.

Full and reliable VPN capabilities

The full-featured VPN keeps your field workers and branch offices securely connected to your network. The DSR-1000AC can establish SSL VPN tunnels as well as Generic Routing Encapsulation (GRE) tunnels, guaranteeing your mobile workers remote access to the company's central database. Site-to-site VPN tunnels use the IPSec protocol, Point-to-Point Tunneling Protocol (PPTP) or Layer 2 Tunneling Protocol (L2TP) to enable connection to branch offices over encrypted virtual connections. Using OpenVPN, mobile users can connect to the intranet using encrypted links from their PC, laptop or mobile device.

Web content filtering for HTTP/HTTPS

The DSR-1000AC also offers web content filtering, making it easier for administrators to monitor, manage and control employees' Internet usage. Static web content filtering helps remove malicious objects such as Java applets, ActiveX and cookies, or block URLs based on keywords.
