Thanks to its galvanized sheet steel housing, the 1-pole mechanical built-in thermostat is very robust and can also be used under harsh conditions. The measuring system used works according to the liquid expansion principle and can be used without problems up to a maximum permissible sensor temperature of 155 °C. The smooth round sensor made of copper has a diameter of 6 mm and a sensor length of approx. 68 mm. The thermostat's long-distance line is also made of copper and can be laid flexibly provided a bending radius of 5 mm is observed. The first 460 mm from the switching head are covered with an electrically insulating PVC protective hose. The device has a capillary rupture protection device, which opens the switching contact and goes into a neutral position if the measuring system is destroyed. The maximum permissible ambient temperature at the switching head (protection class IP00) is 80 °C. The temperature compensation reduces the ambient temperature influence on the switching head to a minimum. The switch head is attached using a fastening bridge with two M4 x 28 screws. The desired switch-off temperature can be easily set on a scale using a screwdriver. The safety temperature monitor is characterized by a high switching point accuracy of +0/- 5 K in the upper third of the scale. A decisive advantage is that no additional auxiliary power is required to measure the temperature. The electrical connection is made to the flat plugs (A 6.3 x 0.8 DIN 46244) of the switch set, which can directly switch a maximum permissible switching capacity of AC 230 volts / 16 A. The thermostat has a switching difference (hysteresis) of approx. 10 K and automatically switches back to the original state when the temperature falls below the switch-off temperature by this value. The safety temperature monitor can be used very flexibly and is used in heating, air conditioning and ventilation technology as well as in plastics.
