The LCN-IV is used to multiply the I connection on a module. In this way, several sensors can be operated on an intelligent module. The LCN-IV can be coupled to a second LCN-IV via the screw terminals. The recommended cable is IY(ST)Y 2x2x0.8 mm Ø, which can be max. 50 m long. The LCN-IV can alternatively be used as a pulse counting input for fast signals (max. 500 Hz, e.g. wind sensor). As an I connection extension and duplication, it has no active function. As a pulse counting input, it makes its count value available in the module. This can be evaluated via the switching thresholds. The LCN-IV is used to operate several sensors on a bus module and to separate them spatially from the module. In this way, a remote control receiver, a temperature sensor and a binary sensor can be installed together on site in a decentralized manner. In this way, functional units (such as lighting, alarm system, temperature control) can be combined in each room. By extending the I-connection, the sensor (such as temperature, remote control) can be installed far away from the bus module in the room. This can prevent disruptive influences (such as drafts, heat radiation, impaired visibility).
