The DDCP-Link offers users and network managers a simple way to protect expensive and mobile IT equipment with a LAN connection from damage. If the mobile IT equipment is moved within a larger radius than the connected RJ45 connection cable allows, the DDCP-Link releases the connection when a certain pulling force is applied and protects the expensive circuit boards of the IT equipment from damage such as contacts being torn out or the RJ45 socket for the network connection being lost. Expensive repairs are therefore a thing of the past. Since the release force is below the standard specifications for RJ45 plugs and sockets according to IEC 60603-7, it is ensured that the connection between the RJ45 connection cable and the DDCP-Link is released first. Nevertheless, the DDCP offers sufficient plugging and pulling forces to prevent the connection from being accidentally released under low pulling forces. The DDCP can be integrated into existing structures without great effort, for example by plugging it between the telecommunications connection socket, the connection cable and in front of the active device.
